		<description>No disrespect to your colleagues, but the &quot;Tracer Bullet&quot; analogy was coined in the Pragmatic Programmer book (Hunt/Thomas, 1999). Their explanation of it is very similar to yours, except that tracer bullet application code is designed to be the basis for the complete code, being refactored and fleshed out over subsequent iterations. It is the opposite of a Prototype, in which code is hacked together to be thrown away once a concept has been proved.</description>
